Howdy, I’m Alistair
I’m an EMMY-Award winning editor based in Western Massachusetts and New York City. For the past 12 years I have worked alongside some incredible filmmakers and editors such as Judd Ehrlich, Mark Becker, and David Zeiff. Inspired by the work of the Maysles Brothers, I have a devotion to classic story-telling styles that results in organically-grown cinema.
l began my career editing RUN FOR YOUR LIFE, a documentary about the enigmatic founder of the New York City Marathon, Fred Lebow, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2008. Since then, I have edited the documentaries I LEARN AMERICA, which premiered at AFI Docs in 2013, the EMMY-winning film NO MÀS (ESPN 30 for 30), the critically-acclaimed, HOT DOCS favorite EVERYBODY STREET, the DICK’S SPORTING GOODS/TRIBECA FILMS release KERRI WALSH JENNINGS: GOLD WITHIN, which premiered on NBC in 2016, and the TRIBECA FILMS release, 200 MILES. I am also one of five editors on ESPN’S upcoming 63-part series, BASKETBALL: A LOVE STORY, due out this fall.
Most recently, I completed editing the film 16 BARS, which premiered at the DOCLANDS Film Festival and took home the Audience Award.
I have been fortunate enough to have 3 of my films nominated for EMMY awards, but I’m most proud of the work that has gone on to draw attention to a marginalized or voiceless population.
